urnley striker Alex MacDonald, 21, has accepted a new one-year deal offered to him by manager Eddie Howe, who has been at Turfmoor since 2008.[LNB] The 21-year-old made a bright start to his career with the Clarets after making his debut for them in 2008.[LNB]His career has stalled slightly since then, with the Scotland international sent out on loan to Falkirk and Inverness.[LNB]But Burnley boss Eddie Howe has been impressed enough in his progress to offer him a new contract.[LNB]"I'm looking forward to this year and hopefully it will be the year to get back in amongst the first team, which is something I'm looking to do. That's my aim," MacDonald told the club website.[LNB]"I feel this is the year I need to get through, otherwise I think it would be time to move on.[LNB]"But I am confident in my own ability and if I get a good pre-season under my belt I will be there or thereabouts in the first team."
