Alex MacDonald admitted to be 'buzzing' after he got the news that he's been called up for the Scotland Under-21 squad for their friendly against Northern Ireland next week. The game will be played at Partick Thistle's Firhill Stadium, a ground where he's played previously for Burnley in a pre-season game in 2008.He's been out of the Scotland set up for a while but Alex has really found his form again recently in the reserves and this has prompted his call up."It's fantastic," he said. "It's something I have been aiming for for a while, to get back into the Scotland fold. I'm buzzing and I can't wait for it. It's a great chance to go and show what I can do."It just goes to show that whenever you are playing, in the reserves or wherever, you have to try and perform the best you can. Hopefully I will get the chance to play and if I do will try and push myself nearer to the first team here."
