Laws hails Eagles decision
urnley boss Brian Laws believes he could have one of the Championship's top performers after Chris Eagles committed his future to Burnley. Laws confirmed Eagles had agreed a new two-year contract on Tuesday after inspiring the side to a 3-1 Carling Cup win at Morecambe. The 24-year-old former Manchester United player rejected the chance to join Scottish champions Rangers earlier this summer, and Laws is delighted the talented wide man has bought into his plans for the club. "Chris didn't feel the move to Rangers was right which was great for us," Laws told the Burnley Express. "Nobody shoved him out of the door. He just wanted to get his future sorted out because once that's settled, he'll be settled. "He's come to the conclusion this is the best place to be. He thinks we've got a squad of players here who could probably do something this year, and he wants to be part of that. "We told him our thoughts and he's bought into those and wants to be part of it. We've got an asset on our hands. I'd rather him be in our camp than somebody else's."
