Laws demands Turf Moor focus

Burnley boss Brian Laws still believes his struggling side's Turf Moor form in the last two months of the season will determine whether they avoid making an immediate return to the Championship.

Twenty-two of the Clarets' 23 Premier League points this season have come at home, although they remain in the bottom three after losing at home to rock-bottom Portsmouth at the weekend.

Burnley have won just one of their last 16 league matches but Laws believes a maximum haul against Stoke City and Wolves at Turf Moor this month will give his team every chance of staying up.

"Everyone's finding it difficult at the moment to pick up points. We know that one point is precious enough in the Premiership, let alone three," said the former Scunthorpe United and Sheffield Wednesday manager.

"So when you don't get it, you look over your shoulder and see what's happening around you and no one really took advantage of it which is a bonus for us.

"We've also got another two games at home coming up very quickly on Wednesday and Saturday.

"If we can get something out of the Arsenal game and follow it up with a result then all of a sudden the Portsmouth result is dissolved and out of the way."
