urnley are using the international break to ensure their squad is in peak physical shape, according to manager Brian Laws.[LNB] International fixtures mean that the Clarets do not return to Championship action until Preston visit Turf Moor on September 11.[LNB]However, Laws is putting his players through a number of stringent tests to make sure his team are in peak condition to cope with a run of seven games in three weeks when they return.[LNB]"We are testing the players this week to see where we are in terms of the physical condition and whether we are happy with the way things are," he told the club's official website. "We will be reviewing our season so far and that's not just about the results.[LNB]"We are also looking at the physical aspects of how the players are performing and where we need to improve and integrate that into our next period, which is a block of seven games in 21 days."[LNB]He added: "That spell will be a real test of character and of our squad because it will certainly be stretched."
