Laws up for `important` Villa tie

Burnley boss Brian Laws believes victory over Aston Villa in the Carling Cup could have multiple benefits for the club. As well as being potentially money spinning, it could also prove to be a catalyst for promotion back to the Premier League at the first attempt. He told the club's official website: "I think it's important to everybody, particularly those who aren't falling over with money. "It's an important competition financially. It's rewarding and strengthens your hand. "It gives me an opportunity if necessary to go out in January and bring in new players if I wanted to. There's money to be made but there's also the glory side of it as well. "A fantastic cup run (semi-finalists in 2008) was also one of the catalysts for Burnley to get promoted, and if we can continue and mirror that hopefully it will enhance our performances in the league as well."
