Laws to keep eye on Madden

Burnley boss Brian Laws will assess rookie Bohemians striker Paddy Madden after his short spell on trial at Turf Moor this week. Madden has returned to Ireland but Laws will invite the 20-year-old back in January for a second trial. "There have been a lot of good players coming out of Ireland and he's a player we've known about for a while. He's got a good goalscoring record," Laws told Clarets Player. "We have had a good look at him for a couple of days. We want to keep monitoring him and hopefully try and bring him back in January when we will probably get a game of some description, possibly in the reserves. "I think that would be the best test for him to see how he is but he certainly didn't look out of place. He's a young player. I'm not so sure he's ready yet but he might be one for the future."
