Laws: Starting line-up is all to play for

Burnley boss Brian Laws has challenged his squad to force their way into his plans for the club`s Championship opener against Nottingham Forest. Laws fielded a strong XI in Saturday`s 2-1 friendly defeat to Stoke at Turf Moor but insists his line-up for next weekend is not set in stone. "People will read into this last game and I can`t stop speculation - even among the players - as to who will start," he told Burnley`s official website. "They will know next week, but what we have done is try to make sure everyone has had equal time by spreading it around. "It`s all to play for and one or two have to brush up on their act a wee bit, while others are making sure they are ready for that first game of the season. "But we have certainly not given Forest anything to work on and our objective (against Stoke) was not to show our hand in any way."
