Brian Laws singled out the contribution of debutant Danny Fox after seeing his Burnley side earn a vital 2-1 victory over fellow strugglers West Ham. The 23-year-old left-back, signed from Celtic shortly before the transfer deadline, set up David Nugent`s opener before firing home a superb 55th-minute free-kick. Hammers debutant Ilan reduced the deficit to set up a nervy finish, but Burnley held on to secure a first win in 13 Barclays Premier League games. Laws paid tribute to Fox`s performance, saying: "Danny had a fantastic debut and you couldn't ask for more. "He's a smart acquisition and there's no doubt he'll help give this team a different dimension." Laws added: "All the time we've been hunting for our first win there's been no sign of panic. If you stay calm and focused you've got a chance and we showed that that's what it takes to get results."
