Laws ready for Eagles talks

Burnley boss Brian Laws will hold talks with Chris Eagles after the club accepted a "substantial bid" from Rangers for the highly-rated winger. Eagles, 24, has held talks with the Scottish Premier League champions although the Clarets are in no rush to sell the former Manchester United trainee. But with only a year remaining on his contract at Turf Moor, Burnley will not stand in Eagles' way if he opts to move north of the border after visiting Ibrox yesterday. Laws said: "I will sit down with Chris and see what is on his mind following the developments. "Clearly he is a talented player and one I do not want to sell. But we have a serious financial offer on the table and with only 12 months left on his current deal we have to be aware that Chris could walk away next summer for nothing. "Clearly he will make the best decision for him and his family, because ultimately it will be the player's decision whether he stays with us or not. But he is a crowd favourite here and I hope that plays a part in his decision."
