Laws is surprise link for Watford

Former Burnley player and manager is in the frame to replace Malky Mackay as Watford manager. I have to admit that it's a surprise link for the Lincolnshire based Laws who left Turf Moor at the end December with the Clarets in 8th place in the Championship. He'd, only a month earlier, overseen a 3-2 win against Watford at Turf Moor but two home defeats against, Leeds and Scunthorpe in December, saw the fans turn in numbers leaving the board with little option but to make a change. He's since been very quiet, occasionally linked with jobs and none more so than his old club Scunthorpe at the time Alan Knill replaced Ian Baraclough. And now, according to the Sunday press, he's been linked with the Watford job along with Stevenage boss Graham Westley and the current Northern Ireland manager Nigel Worthington. Betting wise, former player Sean Dyche remains the favourite for the job.
