Laws ignores Hammer house of horror

urnley manager Brian Laws would love to lock his players away today in a bid to avoid a potential Hammer blow to their survival hopes.[LNB] With the Clarets not playing until tomorrow when Liverpool are the visitors to Turf Moor, all eyes and ears in the Burnley camp will be focused on West Ham's clash with Wigan at Upton Park.[LNB]A Hammers victory will cut Burnley seven points adrift and needing to win their remaining three matches to stay in the top flight.[LNB]A defeat for Gianfranco Zola's side, or even a draw, will offer a glimmer of hope to all within the club.[LNB]Laws, however, knows there can be no shielding his players from a game they have no control over, no matter how hard he would like to try.[LNB]"I'd love to put everybody in a little room, with no electricity, radio or television," said Laws.[LNB]"But it's impossible these days to not know what's going on. It will be unavoidable. They'll all know about it.[LNB]"In one way, whatever the result, it might help relax them as they will know then what they've got to do, and that could be important for us."[LNB]As for Laws himself, he will attempt to divert his own attention by scouting at another game, although he is convinced someone somewhere will be unable to help themselves and will keep him informed.[LNB]"The one thing I won't be doing is watching out for the score on teletext or anything like that," added Laws.[LNB]"I'll be doing some scouting work, which is the best way to take my mind off it.[LNB]"But then I'll be waiting with bated breath to find out the result, and there is always someone who will tell me, wherever I am. They will find me out and let me know.[LNB]"When I do, then I'll know what our objective is and what we'll need to do.[LNB]"Once that is known, there will not be any room for error if the result doesn't go well for us."[LNB]Close friend Steve Bruce this week claimed Laws needed "a miracle", and the Clarets boss is inclined to agree.[LNB]"We need a helping hand. There's no question about it, it's a huge task that lies in front of us, but it's not an impossible one," said Laws.[LNB]"Whatever you want to call it, it will just be a huge relief to everybody associated with this club if we get a result.[LNB]"It's a big, big occasion for us, and we might need that kind of miracle, I suppose, if you look at it that way."[LNB]Laws will be hoping Wigan can reproduce the performance they put in against Arsenal when they came from 2-0 down last Sunday to snatch a stunning 3-2 victory.[LNB]Laws has already made Latics boss Roberto Martinez aware of exactly what he is looking for.[LNB]"I've already spoken to Roberto as he was at our reserve game this week, and so I've put a word in," added Laws.[LNB]"Although we have to rely on one or two results, at the end of the day we have to do ourselves a huge favour, and that is to get our own result."
