Laws hopeful of Fletcher return

Fletcher sat out the defeat by Arsenal on Saturday as he suffered a broken hand while on international duty with Scotland.[LNB]Laws is keen to have Fletcher available, especially as he has weighed in with 11 goals in all competitions since arriving from Hibernian for a club record £3million in the summer.[LNB]However the former Sheffield Wednesday boss will not take any risks with the player as they have another crucial home game to come against Wolves on Saturday.[LNB]Laws said: "We are still not quite sure where we are with Steven Fletcher. We will take it day by day and monitor him.[LNB]"Obviously we want him in the team, there is no question of that. But we have got to be absolutely sure his mindset is right and he is fit to play. We will make a decision probably on Wednesday."[LNB]Chris McCann is also on the comeback trail following a knee problem, although he will not be involved against Stoke.[LNB]"He is training but has a bit of bone bruising and you have to let nature take its course," added Laws.[LNB]"If it is sore, it is sore, but we will be patient with him. He is a good player for this football club and the sooner we get him back, the better."[LNB][LNB] Barclays Premier League. Click here to bet.
