Laws fuming after Clarets collapse

Burnley manager Brian Laws was furious with his players after they surrendered a two-goal lead to lose against Leeds in the npower Championship. Brian Easton and Jay Rodriguez had struck to put the Clarets in the driving seat, but Max Gradel, Luciano Becchio and Jonny Howson left the hosts shell-shocked and on the wrong end of a 3-2 defeat. Laws pulled no punches in his assessment of his team, who are struggling to find the consistency that will propel them back into the Premier League at the first time of asking. The Turf Moor chief said: "It's disappointing there is no question about that. We stopped doing what we were doing in the first-half and that's something I'm really angry about. Bitterly disappointed, we shouldn't be talking about a defeat. There's been a few words said and rightly so because that is acceptable from our point of view. "It is about being professional and switched on and organised. We talk at half-time about the issues and we said don't be complacent - you haven't won the game yet and I think maybe one or two of our players thought we did." Laws accepted the buck stopped with him, adding: "The manager will always take the rap but the players have to take a portion of it because the way they went out in the second half."
