Laws eyes loan market

Burnley boss Brian Laws is weighing up the prospect of signing players on loan from the Barclays Premier League as he bids to bolster his squad. The Clarets look well placed to mount a serious promotion challenge following the summer arrival of Ross Wallace, Chris Iwelumo, Dean Marney and Lee Grant. Yet Laws is still keen to add more numbers to his squad and is hopeful of attracting players from the top flight in search of regular first-team football. Laws told Press Association Sport: "The Premier League clubs have to announce a squad of 25 players, which is a great thing for British football because it starts to throw down the gauntlet to our young English players. "It's been a horrendous summer after what happened with England in the World Cup, but the only way we can enhance things is by changing the rules. "After the squads have been named, there are going to be some good young kids and experienced players looking to go out on loan, so we can obviously see that and we're looking at every Premier League club to see which players are possibilities."
