Burnley striker Kyle Lafferty has signed a new contract extension that will keep him at Turf Moor until the end of the 2008-09 campaign.

The Belfast-born teenager has penned a 12-month extension to his deal, after signing professional terms with the Clarets last summer.

Lafferty has made 10 Championship appearances for Steve Cotterill's side this term, although eight have been from the substitute's bench.

The 18-year-old scored three goals in nine games for Darlington during a loan spell with the Quakers earlier this season.
