Kevin takes the Long road to Accrington

Defender Kevin Long has, for the third time in under a year, joined Accrington Stanley on loan and he'll spend the first half of the new season at the Crown Ground. Long initially joined Stanley last October and made his debut the following day at home against Rotherham United when he was sent off. After serving a suspension he won a regular place in the side up to his loan coming to an end in January. He'd sustained an injury but that didn't prevent manager John Coleman coming in for him again and on the last day of the January transfer window they completed his loan signing for the rest of the 2010/11 season. In total he made 17 appearances for Accrington, 15 of them in League Two and the other two in FA Cup ties against Oldham and Port Vale. On completing the move, Long said: "I'm feeling good about being back. Obviously with the five subs rule coming into the Football League it's going to be hard to get into the team at Burnley. "Accy showed an interest and coming back and playing games is good for me." Long will remain on loan until 3rd January 2012.
