Kevin Hird to face Clarets

Kevin Hird last played for Burnley at Colchester in the last game of the 1985/86 season but now he's set to line up against a Burnley team that will include one of his former team mates. Andy Farrell - in the Burnley teamThat former team mate is Ashley Hoskin who saw Hird score in the first minute when he made his full debut at Cambridge in 1985. Now the pair are on opposite sides as a vintage Barnoldswick Town side take on a vintage Clarets.Hird will captain the home Barnoldswick team this Sunday, 11th July, the rest of the players coming from their successful West Lancs League Championship team of 1998.The Burnley side will include players from the 1980s and 1990s for a game where proceeds will go to ground development at the Barnoldswick ground.The game kicks off at 3:00 p.m. and admission is £2 (adults) and £1 (concessions). The clubhouse will be open from an hour before kick off and will have both bar and refreshment facilities.There will be a raffle on the day along with a gigantic football card and a crossbar challenge whilst the clubhouse will be open after the game showing the World Cup Final between Holland and Spain.The vintage Clarets will be from: Chris Pearce, Chris Brass, Craig Mawson, Roger Eli, John Francis, Ian Britton, Robbie Painter, John Mullin, Ashley Hoskin, Graham Lancashire, Gerry Harrison, Chris Scott, Liam Robinson, Paul Atkinson, Andy Farrell and Jonathan Irvine, the son of former Burnley centre-forward Willie Irvine.
