Central defender Kevin Long spent most of last season on loan with Accrington Stanley and now the young Irishman could be set for another stint at the Crown Ground with the League Two club looking at the option of a further loan. He went to Accrington initially in October 2010 and found himself getting sent off on his debut against Rotherham United, but once clear of suspension he found himself a regular starting place in the team. At the end of the maximum 93 days loan he signed for them again on a long term loan until the end of the season although injury ruled him out for over two months. He got back into a squad that was on form and heading for the play offs and in the end was used mainly from the bench. Assistant manager Jimmy Bell has said they are looking to bring in four of five players during the close season and they are believed to want Long for the entire season on loan.
