Kev Mac moves to Scunthorpe

Midfielder Kevin McDonald has today signed for Scunthorpe in a one month loan deal and goes straight into their side for the home game against Doncaster on Saturday. McDonald has featured just once in the first team this season as a substitute at Morecambe in the Carling Cup, and his only league action since that infamous day when we lost to Manchester City came as a late substitute at Birmingham in our last Premier League away game.Brian Laws has said for some time that he was looking to get him out on loan short term to get him some games but previously the opportunities hadn't floated the Scottish Under-21 international's boat.Leeds and Scunthorpe were the clubs he'd been rumoured to have turned down and more recently Reading were believed to have shown an interest.Today, however, the move to Scunthorpe has been completed and McDonald will be hoping to get his first league action of the season this Saturday at Glanford Park.Manager Brian Laws said: "He's playing in the Championship so we can keep a close eye on him because I live around the corner. He's not disappearing too far."He's a talented player. He's young and he's still got a lot of time. We feel there is more development and more to come out of him and maybe a stint away from the club will see that."There could be news today of two other players going out on loan.
