Kalvenes says farewell to Clarets

Christian Kalvenes has left Burnley after having the remainder of his contract terminated by mutual consent, the club confirmed on Thursday.[LNB] Kalvenes, 33, was released from the remaining three months of his contract to allow him to return home to Norway.[LNB]The left-sided defender joined the Clarets on a free transfer from Dundee United in June 2008 and made 21 appearances in the Championship last season to help the club gain promotion.[LNB]However, Kalvenes has started just three matches in the Premier League this campaign, making three further appearances from the bench with his last game in a Burnley shirt coming against Chelsea at the end of January.[LNB]
