Kačaniklić returns to Fulham

Burnley will be without loan player Alex Kačaniklić for the last three games of the season after he was recalled by Fulham this morning due to an injury crisis at Craven Cottage.

The Swedish international joined the Clarets on 1st March in a loan deal until the end of the season but, as is often the case with emergency loans, the parent club have the option to recall him after the first 28 days of the loan.

Martin Jol, the Fulham manager, has taken up that option today due to the number of injuries at Fulham meaning that Kačaniklić has played his last game for us.

He arrived on the Friday just in time to make a debut at Charlton. He looked very impressive, particularly in the first half, but has struggled in his other five appearances for us. He was left out of the side an named as a substitute and then missed altogether at Blackpool due to a stomach bug.

He returned to the team at Leeds on Tuesday where he had his most disappointing game yet. We've certainly not seen the best of him. He's highly rated at Fulham and he also turned in some very impressive displays for Watford during a loan at Vicarage Road last season.

It was a signing I was delighted with just a few weeks ago but unfortunately not one that worked out as we had hoped.

Having played for us at Leeds he's now expected to be in Fulham's squad for their Premier League game against Arsenal at Craven Cottage this Saturday.
