Jordan in America with Pompey

Former Burnley left-back Stephen Jordan is in America after joining Portsmouth on trial after previously training with Crystal Palace. Jordan was released at the end of last season and after initially looking set for Sheffield United he started pre-season with Crystal Palace under new manager George Burley.A deal looked likely, despite an injury sustained during training, but his former Burnley boss Steve Cotterill has persuaded him to train with Portsmouth.The south coast club, still in administration, have gone to America for pre-season. Manager Cotterill was almost turned away due to visa problems but was finally admitted with Jordan, and David Nugent, in his squad.
