    Jensen pleads for Clarets deal

    26 Jan 2010 - 09:25:08

Goalkeeper Brian Jensen has urged Burnley to offer him a new contract to end the uncertainty surrounding his future.

Jensen, 34, is out of contract at Turf Moor at the end of the current campaign and is desperate to pledge his future to the Clarets.

The Dane has been at the club since 2003 but is worried that the recent change in club management could lead to his departure.

Brian Laws replaced Owen Coyle in the hot-seat earlier in the month following his decision to move on to Bolton Wanderers.

"They talked about a new deal before and the new manager has said, 'Listen, don't come knocking on my door straightaway, just let me get my feet on the ground and we'll come to you'," Jenson told the Daily Mail.

"The timing is that I'm out of contract in the summer and I need to look after my family. The quicker we sort something out, the better.

"I've said all the way through that Burnley is where I feel I belong and where I want to stay.

"I've been here for seven years and I wouldn't change it if I didn't have to. But I'm open to suggestions."
