Jensen hits out at Laws

Goalkeeper Brian Jensen came off the transfer list recently following the appointment of Eddie Howe as manager and in giving his explanation has hit out at former boss Brian Laws. Speaking about his decision to come off the list, Jensen said: "I think it was the right thing to do when I spoke to the new gaffer. It's not his fault I went on the transfer list in the first place, it was some personal stuff between me and the old manager and I wasn't happy."It's not because I spat my dummy out and didn't want to fight for anything. It was just under the circumstances of how it happened. I just wanted the truth. Everybody else wants that even if you like it or not and you can continue."But it's a new chapter now and I thought it was the right thing to do when I spoke to the new gaffer."Jensen was left out of the side for the game at QPR in October after Lee Grant had played well in the Carling Cup defeat at Aston Villa."People have seen all the games and people who have seen what happened were asking questions as well," he added. " It was not because I didn't want to be here. It was not because I didn't want to fight for it. It was basically just because I was told something different in the summer and signed a new contract and it had just completely backfired."I'm 35 now and I don't have the time behind me. The gaffer knows I'm not happy and if I have to go somewhere else that's the way football goes, but short term I'm going to fight for it, I'm going to do my very best to get back in the side."I'm going to do what I've always done, but in the past I've always had a bit of time and always been ready to fight for it and had time to get back in the side. I don't feel I have that any more so it's important for me to play as soon as possible and if it's not possible I have to think about myself and my family."Now it is 50/50 again. It is fair and square now and I have a big chance of getting back in the side as has Granty of staying there. Yes, that's what I'm going for because it has always worked for me in the past and that's what I'm going to do."I'm definitely going to try and get back into the side but if it doesn't work out the way that I want to then unfortunately I might have to look somewhere else."Grant arrived from Laws' old club Sheffield Wednesday in the summer and Jensen admitted: "To be fair to the old gaffer he said that he wanted to bring someone in but under the circumstances of how it happened and what happened after that was way out of control. I was not happy about it and that was the reason, but yes you need to strengthen your squad and I don't have a problem with that."People who know me know I'm not that kind of person but you have to be fair and square."
