With just four goals to choose from last month, Jay Rodriguez picked up the Clarets Mad Goal of the Month for December with our second in the 3-2 home defeat against Leeds United. It wasn't a month full of spectacular goals and Jay's came in the first half against Leeds, giving us a 2-0 lead. It was a result of a long clearance from his own penalty box by Clarke Carlisle. Jay latched onto it, went past Alex Bruce before firing past Kasper Schmeichel for his first ever goal at the cricket field end.Jay won 57.1% of the vote whilst the first goal in that game came from Brian Easton as he scored from close range after the ball dropped to him. That took fourth place in the vote with 4.6% of the vote. The other two goals were at Barnsley on Boxing Day as we won for the first time away from home all season. John Guidetti, like Easton in the Leeds game, scored his first Burnley goal with a header from a Wade Elliott cross. That goal came second with a 21.6% share whilst Andre Bikey's headed winner from a corner was third with 16.7% of the vote.Jay's is the fifth monthly winner this season. The others have been two from Chris Eagles against Morecambe and Barnsley, Chris Iwelumo's second against Preston and the Tyrone Mears free kick in the home win against Derby.Voting is currently under way for the man of the match from Saturday's 0-0 draw against QPR. That vote runs until the end of Tuesday.
