Jay Rod gets top billing again

10 March 2011 10:02
Jay Rodriguez won the man of the match after scoring in our 2-1 win at Preston and he's repeated that after his goal won us the game against Crystal Palace last Saturday. Jay was bang in form in this game and gave the Clarets an early lead with his long range strike, a lead we weren't to relinquish, and his overall performance has again been recognised on Clarets Mad with the winning of both the man of the match and the player ratings. In the man of the match he polled 35.3% of the vote to take first place with Ross Wallace, who had probably his best game since signing from Preston in the summer, coming second with a 21.2% share. Wallace just edged out Jack Cork who was third with 20.7% of the vote. There was little change with the player ratings with Jay again coming out on top with a rating of 7.88 out of 10. This time Wallace and Cork couldn't be separated and were alongside each other in second place with ratings of 7.42 out of 10.Rodriguez, therefore, wins the maximum six points towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year with four points for Wallace and three points for Cork. Those points have seen Cork now go 22 points clear of Chris Eagles at the top of the table with Rodriguez now in third place having climbed above defenders Andre Bikey and Tyrone Mears. The man of the match vote for the Hull game is currently in progress and can be found down the right hand side of the front page. This vote will end at the end of Friday.Clarets Mad Player of the Year Table96: Jack Cork74: Chris Eagles38: Jay Rodriguez36: Andre Bikey & Tyrone Mears31: Clarke Carlisle25: Wade Elliott & Lee Grant20: Michael Duff18: Dean Marney16: Danny Fox14: Chris Iwelumo12: Ross Wallace11: Brian Jensen9: Brian Easton6: Martin Paterson3: Leon Cort, John Guidetti & Steven Thompson1: Graham Alexander & Charlie Austin
