Youth team product Jay Rodriguez wants to play a key role in Burnley's bid for an instant return to the top flight.
The striker scored for the Clarets' second-string in a 6-0 demolition of Oldham on Tuesday and intends to force his way into boss Brian Laws' plans.
"I'm very hungry, I'm 21 now so I'm looking to knock on the door and hopefully get a chance," Rodriguez told Burnley's official website.
"All I can do is keep working hard at my game and improving.
"I just have to keep my fitness up, keep scoring and see how it goes."
