Jay Rodriguez came under the microscope on Saturday at Loftus Road when England Under-21 boss Stuart Pearce watched him in action against Queens Park Rangers. It is being reported this morning that Pearce is keeping tabs on Jay as he considers his squad for the forthcoming friendly against Germany.Jay has now passed 50 appearances for the Clarets, but just 13 of them are starts. That includes two league starts in the 2008/09 season and one start in the Carling Cup last season. That's been boosted since he was named in the starting eleven for the Carling Cup tie against Bolton. He's kept his place ever since giving him a run of nine successive starts during which time he's scored two goals, at Millwall and Sheffield United. He celebrated his 21st birthday in July but still qualifies at under-21 level.
