Rodriguez progressed through the ranks at Turf Moor to become a first-team regular this season and Cork has been highly impressed with the 21-year-old.
"I get along with Jay really well and he is a very good player," said Cork.
"You can see he has got a lot of different attributes that make him a great player.
"He's fast, he's got good spring and he can head it and he has got a brilliant strike on him.
"If he keeps doing what he's doing he is going to do very well. There's no doubt he can go far as he wants."
