Iwelumo deal close
Chris Iwelumo has scored in both of Burnley's pre-season games so far, against Altrincham and Bury, but it is looking increasingly likely that they could have been his last games for the club with him on the verge of a move to Watford. I do know that Watford have come to an agreement with Burnley regarding the transfer of Big Chris but that was last week and ahead of any discussions with the player himself. Suggestions from the Watford end are that he's now gone as far as having had a medical and agreed a deal with them and that he should be signing for the Hertfordshire club tomorrow. Right now, there is still no news of Burnley's squad for the trip to the south west. They leave tomorrow and head to Bristol for the first game against Bristol Rovers. It may well be the delayed confirmation of that squad is because of the current position with Iwelumo. It is looking very likely now that he won't be with Burnley at Bristol tomorrow and could well, by then, be a Watford player after just one season at Turf Moor.
