Two Burnley players, Keith Treacy and Alex MacDonald, have received international calls from their respective countries in the last couple of days. Keith Treacy wins a Republic of Ireland call up Yesterday, Treacy learned that he had again been named by Giovanni Trapattoni for the Republic of Ireland's forthcoming European qualifiers. They face Slovakia in Dublin on Friday 2nd September and then travel to Moscow to play Russia on the following Tuesday night, 6th September. Treacy has won five caps for his country and the last of them, a substitute appearance against Croatia earlier this month, ensured he became the first ever Burnley player to be capped by the Republic of Ireland whilst at Turf Moor. Today, Billy Stark has named his Scotland under-21 squad for a European qualifier against Bulgaria and MacDonald, looking for a fourth cap at this level, is in that squad of 19.
