Ings won the man of the match with 32.8% of the vote, and that was ahead of his strike partner Sam Vokes who was second with 11.5%. Third place went to Jason Shackell who polled 10.6% and Kieran Trippier just edged into fourth place with an 8.5% share.
The player ratings look similar in that we had the same top three, but just look at the overall ratings. Keith Treacy's was a very healthy 8.03 out of 10 and that saw him finish in last place.
Ings was the first player to rate above nine this season. He won it with a rating of 9.10 out of 10. again ahead of Vokes whose rating was 8.92. Shackell got third place again with a rating of 8.82 and midfielder David Jones took fourth place. His rating was 8.73 out of 10.
The maximum ten points towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year are won by Ings with Vokes getting six points, four points for Shackell and one each for Jones and Trippier.
Those points have gone to the five players who already held the top five places in the player of the year table, and it is getting very tight between the top three. Shackell now leads Vokes by four points who in turn has a five point lead over Ings.
