Hundred grand for Pugh
Bournemouth will have to pay up to £100,000 for Marc Pugh after the former Burnley youth player opted to leave Hereford United in the summer and sign for the Cherries. Pugh left Burnley towards the end of the 2005/06 season and has gone on to play for Bury and Shrewsbury before joining Hereford, initially on loan and then permanently last summer.He signed a one year deal and Hereford offered him a new deal this year, but Pugh took up the offer of a contract with newly promoted Bournemouth. Because of his age there was a fee to pay and when the clubs couldn't agree it went to a tribunal in the same way as did our signings of David Edgar and Richard Eckersley last season.The Professional Football Compensation Committee (PFCC) met yesterday to determine the price Bournemouth should pay for his services. They decided that Bournemouth should pay Hereford an initial £60,000 and additionally they should be a further £10,000 after each 15 appearances for his new club up to a maximum of 60 appearances.They also confirmed that Hereford should receive 10% of any profit made by Bournemouth should he be sold to another club at any point in the future.
