Hull join us and Pompey in bottom three

28 February 2010 22:59
With only Bolton of the seven clubs above Portsmouth winning it is still very tight down there with any one of those clubs in with a chance of going down with the bottom club. Just four points seperate West Ham in 13th place and Burnley in 19th and certainly not one of the clubs from the Hammers down can consider themselves safe.Up at the top it was Arsenal who had the best result of the day. Manchester United were playing in the Carling Cup final and with Chelsea losing at home to Manchester City it gave the Gunners the opportunity to close the gap at Stoke. They did with two late goals securing a 3-1 win, although it came at a cost with the serious injury to Aaron Ramsey.Spurs remain in fourth place, but there is a four horse race for that final Champions League spot that will probably run until the end of the season. The weekend's stats are below with the Premier League's leading goalscorers, each club's disciplinary record and the next group of fixtures. The Week's ResultsSaturday 27th FebruaryBirmingham 1 Wigan 0Chelsea 2 Manchester City 4Bolton 1 Wolves 0Stoke 1 Arsenal 3Burnley 1 Portsmouth 2.Sunday 28th FebruaryLiverpool 2 Blackburn 1Tottenham 2 Everton 1Sunderland 0 Fulham 0.The Week's StatsBiggest winArsenal 3-1 v Stoke (away)Manchester City 4-2 v Chelsea (away)Total goals scored21 (10 home - 11 away)Player scoring most goals2Frank Lampard (Chelsea)Craig Bellamy (Manchester City)Carlos Tevez (Manchester City)Highest Attendance42,795 - Liverpool v BlackburnLowest Attendance19,714 - Burnley v PortsmouthTotal Yellow Cards31Total Red Cards4Most cards in a gameChelsea v Manchester City (4Y 2R) - Mike DeanLiverpool v Blackburn (6Y) - Alan WileySunderland v Fulham (6Y) - Martin AtkinsonThe leading scorers (league only)23Wayne Rooney (Manchester United)19Didier Drogba (Chelsea)16Jermain Defoe (Tottenham)15Darren Bent (Sunderland)Carlos Tevez (Manchester City)13Cesc Fabregas (Arsenal)Louis Saha (Everton)Fernando Torres (Liverpool)12Frank Lampard (Chelsea)11Gabriel Agbonlahor (Aston Villa)9Emmanuel Adebayor (Manchester City)Dimitar Berbatov (Manchester United)Carlton Cole (West Ham)Dirk Kuyt (Liverpool)8Nicolas Anelka (Chelsea)Craig Bellamy (Manchester City)Bobby Zamora (Fulham)7Andrei Arshavin (Arsenal)Steven Fletcher (Burnley)Kenwyne Jones (Sunderland)Hugo Rodallega (Wigan)Robin van Persie (Arsenal)Thomas Vermaelen (Arsenal)Hat Tricks (league only)19th Aug3 - Jermain Defoe - Hull v TOTTENHAM12th Sep3 - Yossi Benayoun - LIVERPOOL v Burnley26th Sep4 - Robbie Keane - TOTTENHAM v Burnley26th Sep3 - Fernando Torres - LIVERPOOL v Hull31st Oct3 - Aruna Dindane - PORTSMOUTH v Wigan21st Nov5 - Jermain Defoe - TOTTENHAM v Wigan28th Nov3 - Wayne Rooney - Portsmouth v MANCHESTER UNITED11th Jan3 - Carlos Tevez - MANCHESTER CITY v Blackburn23rd Jan4 - Wayne Rooney - MANCHESTER UNITED v HullDisciplinary Record (all domestic games)ClubYRClubYRArsenal560Liverpool465Aston Villa542Manchester City523Birmingham541Manchester United526Blackburn574Portsmouth684Bolton542Stoke644Burnley473Sunderland706Chelsea474Tottenham531Everton542West Ham563Fulham361Wigan451Hull564Wolves513The Next FixturesSaturday 6th MarchArsenal v BurnleyWolves v Manchester United (17:30)West Ham v Bolton.Sunday 7th MarchEverton v Hull (16:00).Monday 8th MarchWigan v Liverpool (20:00).Tuesday 9th MarchPortsmouth v BirminghamSunderland v BoltonWednesday 10th MarchBurnley v Stoke.
