Cameron Howieson has been selected for the New Zealand Under 20 squad (the Junior All Whites) and is one of three English based players in the squad for the 2013 Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) Championships.

The bi-annual tournament, won by New Zealand in 2011, will be held this year in Fiji between 21st and 29th March but Howieson will join up with the squad in Auckland nine days ahead of the tournament start.

Five countries will contest the tournament in a round robin format with New Zealand's free date coming on the last game day meaning their competition will end on 27th March. They will open up with a game against Papua New Guinea and at two day intervals will then face Vanuata, New Caledonia and finally the hosts Fiji.

Coach Chris Milicich has named a squad of 20 players and has said he envisages, because of how quickly the games are played, most of the squad playing two games.

Cameron is joined by goalkeeper Max Crocombe from Oxford and Derby defender Luke Adams. The remaining members of their squad all play their football for clubs in either New Zealand or Australia.

The tournament winners will go forward to the FIFA Under-20 World Cup which will this year be played in Turkey during June and July.
