Heywood leaves Barrow
Former Burnley defender Matt Heywood was in search of a new club during the summer and had trials with both Gateshead and Altrincham before signing for Barrow who had been newly promoted into the Blue Square Conference. Unfortunately things haven't quite worked out for him there and his contract has now been terminated without him playing a game for the club.Chairman Tony Keen said on announcing Heywood's departure: "There was a breach of contract. It's a signing that didn't work out for us. Through the legal system we have now closed it as an issue."
