Harley joins Rotherham

Former Burnley left back Jon Harley has today joined Rotherham United on a one month loan from Notts County and is expected to go straight into their squad for tomorrow's League Two game at home to Bristol Rovers.

Harley, now 32, has played only once in the league this season for Notts and so jumped at the chance to get some football at Rotherham. He said: "I spoke to Martin Allen (Notts County manager) and he told me that Rotherham were interested in taking me so this is a great chance for me to come here and hopefully play games.

"Rotherham are a good club and they have given me the chance to come and play football which is something that I have been missing this season, so it was a no-brainer for me. I spoke to the manager here, Andy Scott, and everything sounded positive so here I am and hopefully I can get a good month behind me."

Harley joined Burnley in late August 2005 and was with the club for three years before being released at the end of the 2007/08 season. He moved on to Watford and after two years signed for Notts County where, under Allen, he's found himself out of the running for a place in the side.

He played a total of 126 games for Burnley and scored three goals, two of those coming in a 4-1 win over Watford in December 2005.
