Gudjonsson appeal fails

Burnley midfielder Joey Gudjonsson will have to serve a four-match suspension after the FA's Disciplinary Commission rejected an appeal against his red card in the defeat to Preston.
The panel ruled that the Icelandic midfielder's stamp on Neil Mellor was deliberate, and upheld referee Lee Mason's decision.
It was also decided that the Clarets' appeal was "frivolous" so Gudjonsson received an additional one-match ban as punishment.
Burnley manager Owen Coyle told the club's official website: "We're astounded at the decision."
