Gray day for Clarets

Burnley will be without Andy Gray for two months after the striker broke three bones in his foot in the midweek victory over Leeds United at Turf Moor.

The Scottish striker netted the second in the 2-1 victory before being forced off with a late injury.

And scans have revealed the ten-goal marksman has broken three metatarsals in his left foot.

"It is obviously a blow to lose Andy as he has been in exceptional form since he came to the club," Clarets boss Steve Cotterill told the club's official website.

"He is a terrific team player and he will obviously be missed.

"However, it gives an exciting opportunity to a young, hungry and exciting prospect in Kyle Lafferty.

"And every cloud has a silver lining - at least now we won't be selling Andy in the transfer window."
