Gray confirmed at Pompey

Stuart Gray was released as first team coach by Burnley at the end of last season but has wasted no time in finding himself a similar role in the Championship with Portsmouth. Pompey were on the lookout for a new coach when Ian Woan left week to become number two at Watford, and former Clarets' boss Steve Cotterill has appointed Gray, a former Southampton manager. Confirming the news, Cotterill said: "Stuart is going to be replacing Woany and will be there for tonight’s friendly. "I have known Stuart for a long, long time. He is a good organiser and a good coach. He left Burnley a couple of months ago and I am really pleased to have him on board. ‘Stuart has been here a few days and fitted in very well. He’s got a spring in his step and made a good impression. I think the lads have taken to him already."
