Grant and McCann land places in Football League team

Because of their performances in th 3-1 win against Bristol City, both goalkeeper Lee Grant and midfielder Chris McCann were named in this week's official Football League Championship Team of the Week.

The pair of them are both enjoying their third selection of the season. McCann's previous two were back in the autumn when Eddie Howe was manager and, as this week, on occasions when he scored.

The first of them was alongside both Joseph Mills and Charlie Austin in the 5-2 win against Peterborough and then Howe's last game in charge at Crystal Palace which was lost 4-3. On both occasions he scored the first goal of the game.

Grant conceded a goal on Saturday but on the previous two occasions he's been named it has come on the back of clean sheets. The first of them was for his performance in the 2-0 win against Wolves, the first game for Sean Dyche, and much more recently in our 1-0 win at Charlton.

Both were considered to have played well on Saturday with McCann enhancing his performance with our second goal, the one that put us in front and Grant adding a penalty save to his excellent performance.

They line up in a team that also includes two players from each of Bolton and Ipswich with five other clubs represented by one player including Sheffield Wednesday's Jermaine Johnson who I'm sure we're all happy to see there.

This week's team is: Lee Grant (Burnley), James Chester (Hull), Dorian Dervite (Charlton), Luke Chambers (Ipswich)(, Marcos Alonso (Bolton), Carlos Edwards (Ipswich), Ludovic Sylvestre (Blackpool), Chris McCann (Burnley), Neil Danns (Huddersfield), Jermaine Johnson (Sheffield Wednesday), David Ngog (Bolton).
