Gazza says no to Garforth

07 October 2010 13:05
Recently there has been conflicting reports that former Clarets, and former England star, Paul Gascoigne has either become the manager of Evo-Stik League club Garforth Town or is about to. The answer, however, is neither are correct and Gascoigne has today finally confirmed that he has turned down the opportunity to return to management.Doubts were cast when he wasn't at their game against Warrington Town, some jokingly suggesting he was busy trying to locate the home of Curzon Ashton, Garforth's next opponents. The truth is that Gazza has been advised to turn it down because there were too many non-football related expectations and the contract offered included too much commercial content. His spokesman said he was still looking for an opportunity, the right opportunity, to get back into football.
