Last Tuesdays game at Doncaster proved to be a very disappointing game for the Clarets as we went down to a 1-0 defeat but it was a game in which Danny Fox was voted our best player. Fox won both the man of the match vote and the player ratings on a night when only three Burnley players reached the average rating of six.He won the man of the match with a 27.7% share of the vote and that was ahead of Jack Cork who claimed 18.7%. New signing Charlie Austin, who had very few opportunities to impress, received 9.0% of the vote to take third place. It was the two full backs and goalkeeper who won the points in the player ratings. Fox was again first with a rating of 6.60 out of 10. Goalkeeper Lee Grant was second with a rating of 6.2 and Mears, just getting in with the average of 6.00 out of 10, in third place. That gives Fox six points towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year. Both Cork and Grant pick up two points whilst Austin and Mears get one point each. The points have made little difference to the table other than extending Cork's lead at the top ahead of Chris Eagles to 19 points.Voting is still underway for the Norwich man of the match. That ends at the end of Tuesday and will then be followed by the January Goal of the Month vote.Clarets Mad Player of the Year Table82: Jack Cork63: Chris Eagles36: Andre Bikey31: Clarke Carlisle30: Tyrone Mears25: Wade Elliott23: Lee Grant19: Jay Rodriguez15: Michael Duff13: Chris Iwelumo11: Danny Fox, Brian Jensen & Dean Marney9: Brian Easton8: Ross Wallace6: Martin Paterson3: Leon Cort, John Guidetti & Steven Thompson1: Graham Alexander & Charlie Austin
