Four goals, four players - it's your choice

13 February 2013 10:17
It is time for the vote for the Goal of the Month for January and you have a choice of four goals scored by four different players in three games against Sheffield Wednesday, Crystal Palace and Millwall. December winner Ross Wallace

We played four league games during the month, winning three of them and losing the last one against Birmingham. We found the net in all of them with a total of six goals scored but that includes two penalties scored by Ross Wallace in the first and last of those games.

The first game was the 2-0 win against Wednesday at Hillsborough, a game which saw us go 1-0 up with a strike from Keith Treacy from outside the box, his first goal since the defeat at Peterborough in September 2011.

Wallace's penalty completed the scoring and, after no goals in the FA Cup defeat, it was a late goal from Junior Stanislas that won us the home game against Palace, taking his time and placing a shot into the top corner from the edge of the box after it had been played back to him by Danny Ings.

Sam Vokes and Ings were the scorers in the next game, the 2-0 win at the Den. Vokes got the first after good work from Stanislas, placing his shot between the goalkeeper's legs and Ings completed the scoring, heading in unmarked from close range following a Kieran Trippier cross.

Wallace, again from the penalty spot, scored our last goal of the month against Birmingham.

Your choice is between the goals scored by Treacy, Stanislas, Vokes and Ings. You can vote via the front page of the site or the VOTING POLLS page. The vote will run for the next three days.

The winning goal will automatically be included in the Goal of the Season vote in May. Already in that vote are the goals from Dean Marney (August v Port Vale ), Charlie Austin (September v Millwall), Martin Paterson (October v Crystal Palace), Marney (November v Hull) and Wallace (December v Birmingham).
