Fletcher and Long loan deals continue

Both Wes Fletcher and Kevin Long will remain out on loan, at Stockport County and Accrington Stanley respectively, until the New Year after both deals were extended today. Wes Fletcher - to remain at Stockport until JanuaryThe two of them will now remain with the League Two clubs until 15th January, taking them both to the maximum period for an emergency loan.Long has settled in well at Accrington and his performances have improved during his first two months, a spell that got off to the worst possible start in October when he was sent off on his debut against Rotherham United.Manager John Coleman said he needed to learn how to play League Two football and that's something Kevin has done during his time at the Crown Ground with Coleman happy to be able to keep him for the next month. It's the same over at Edgeley Park where Wes Fletcher has been turning in some outstanding performances for Stockport. He has only netted once but was heavily involved in all three Stockport goals on Saturday as they drew 3-3 with Crewe.Manager Paul Simpson said of his performance: "I've got to give credit to Wes Fletcher. He's been excellent today and he's been under the weather, he wasn't very well. At half time he could hardly breathe and we got the doctor to examine him."I had to get in his head and tell him just how well he was doing. He told me he had no energy but if that's no energy from Wes Fletcher then I dread to think what he'd be like if he was full of energy."When asked about Wes Fletcher at last night's AGM, Brian Laws said: "It was important for Wes to get that League experience. Sometimes players go away and come back a different animal and Wes is doing extremely well."I have had good reports. I speak to the manager on a regular basis and we are sending scouts out to watch him."This is good news for both players without a doubt and they can now expect to get a good number of first team games in during this busiest time of the year for football.
