FA charge for Clarets

Burnley and Leeds have been charged with failing to control their players by the Football Association following a melee in last weekend's clash at Elland Road. Players from both sides were involved in angry exchanges early in the second half following Burnley midfielder Chris McCann's high tackle on Leeds winger Max Gradel. Referee Phil Crossley, who moved swiftly and effectively to diffuse the situation, booked Leeds pair Eric Lichaj and Neil Kilkenny while McCann was also shown a yellow card. An FA statement read: "The FA has charged Leeds United and Burnley with failing to ensure that their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and/or refrained from provocative behaviour. "The charge relates to a recent fixture between the two sides at Elland Road on April 30, 2011. Both clubs have until 4pm on 6 May 2011 to respond."
