Burnley's pre-season schedule looks set to follow a similar pattern to last year with confirmation that we'll once again be paying a visit to Moss Lane, the home of Altrincham.

It all started there on 9th July last year, four weeks before the start of the Football League season and this year we'll be back on 21st July, again four weeks before the big kick off.

Altrincham Football Club have confirmed the game and referring to last year, they said: "Burnley came to Moss Lane last summer and manager Ernie Howe kindly selected a high quality side, which included Tyrone Mears, Chris Eagles, Jay Rodriguez and Chris Iwelumo.

It was the first of six pre-season games; the others coming away against Bury, Bristol Rovers, Torquay United and Oldham Athletic and a home fixture against Sunderland.

Burnley are expected to travel to the West Country again this summer and end the pre-season with a home game on the Saturday ahead of the new season although there has not been, as yet, any confirmation of games.
