Elliott and Fox get top billing from Pompey game
Wade Elliott and Danny Fox were considered our two best players in last Monday's home draw against Portsmouth with Elliott winning the man of the match vote and Fox coming out on top in the player ratings. Elliott had scored in the previous home game against Middlesbrough and had also got the third two days before the Portsmouth game in the 4-2 win at Derby. They were his first two league goals of the season and he believes he had a third in this game, getting a touch to the goal that was credited to Chris Eagles.Nevertheless, he was the winner of our man of the match poll, taking a 25.4% share of the vote, just ahead of Eagles who had 21.7%. Left back Danny Fox came third with 12.1% of the vote.Fox, however, took first place in the player ratings with a rating of 7.07 out of 10. That was just ahead of Brian Jensen who was second. His rating was 6.86 and Elliott was third with a rating of 6.79 out of 10.Both Elliott and Fox win 4 votes towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year and there are two points each for Eagles and Jensen. Those points will make no difference now to the winner. With the Clarets having failed to reach the play offs we now have just one game to go and that has ensured Jack Cork takes the Clarets Mad Player of the Year title.The results from the Portsmouth game are below, along with the current table for the player of the year.
