Eleven goals in September - now make your choice

September brought with it another avalanche of goals as the Clarets netted a total of eleven in league and cup games against Blackburn, Birmingham, Leeds, Nottingham Forest and Charlton. August winner Danny Ings

It was a month that saw us play five games, and win four of them after drawing the first game against Blackburn when Junior Stanislas came on as a substitute to finish a wonderful move with a great strike to set us up for what we thought was going to be a win.

We've long got over that disappointment as win has followed win since, and four in September with ten more goals.

Danny Ings netted twice in the win against Birmingham, the first and last, with Scott Arfield also on the scoresheet with the second. Arfield got another at Leeds on the following Saturday, a game that saw Sam Vokes score his first goal of the month.

There were two games and five more goals to come. Ings got both as we came from behind to beat Forest in the Capital One Cup, the first a sublime finish from the edge of the box and the second a header from a Stanislas free kick.

Ings, who won the August vote with his goal at Derby, got his last goal of the month when he converted a Kieran Trippier cross to open the scoring against Charlton before Vokes netted twice in the second half, the first as he got onto a superb through ball from Dean Marney and then volleying home a Stanislas corner.

The vote is now open and you can select your favourite goal either via the front page of the site or from the VOTING POLLS page. The voting will run for three days until the end of Friday with the winner automatically winning a place in the Goal of the Season vote next May.
